Rennes Vs Tottenham Draw, Spurs' Terrible Fate Continues After 2 Players Are Injured

JAKARTA - Nuno Espirito Santo has vented his frustration over Tottenham's 'terrible' plight after two of his players limped off in a 2-2 draw with Rennes in the Conference League.

The Spurs manager was actually happy with his team's efforts to force a point in their opening Conference League game. However, he couldn't hide his anger at losing more attackers.

First, Steven Bergwijn, who had to leave the field for half an hour after suffering an ankle injury. A problem that would see him miss several Spurs games.

Second, winger Lucas Moura limped off the pitch in the second half after a tough tackle from the opposition.

"It was terrible. I have to be honest. Don't hide behind anything," said the Spurs boss after the game was quoted by Dailymail, Friday.

"After against Watford, everything that happened wasn't very good for us. But this is football. And we know this is a moment we have to overcome.

"Today, we tried to show the players a solution, thinking about the game on Sunday. But it's about overcoming obstacles. It will make us stronger for the future, for sure."

Spurs face a tough run against London rivals Chelsea on Sunday and they could face a shortage of strikers given that Heung-Min Son is still recovering from a calf injury. The Lilywhites hope the South Korean player can be fit in time.

Nuno is also still without Cristian Romero, Giovano Lo Celso and Davinson Sanchez while they are quarantined in Croatia following their decision to travel to South America during the international break last week. This goes against Premier League rules.

When asked if Bergwijn or Moura would be fit for Sunday's game, he said: '"It hurts, it's bad. I can't tell you. They are being treated. But it's tough."
