Barca Beaten By Bayern, Koeman: We Only Have Three Strikers

JAKARTA - Bayern Munich dominated at Camp Nou and clinched a 3-0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night. Coach Ronald Koeman admitted that their opponents were the better team with squad depth.

"We only have three strikers," Koeman said after the defeat.

"Tactically there were times where we were in control. Bayern's game is in the middle third and you have to fill in there.

"For now it is. I can't complain about the attitude, but there is a difference in quality.

“(Bayern are) a team that as a group have been together for a long time and also have a bench that has improved.

Koeman then said in the future and especially when injured players like Sergio Aguero, Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele return to action they will improve.

"We have a lot of young players who in two or three years will be better. It's very difficult to accept, but we have to wait for things to improve and the players recover from their injuries.

"That's how it is, we have to spend a few weeks like this because later we will get players like (Sergio) Aguero, (Ousmane) Dembele and Ansu Fati back."

Koeman went on to point out that this Barcelona team needs patience and the gap between the stronger teams will be reduced in the future.

"There are players who are 19 or 20 years old," Koeman added.

"If you compare it to the players that [Bayern Munich] have, there is a difference. In a few moments, the difference will be smaller.

"We know that Sergi Roberto is not a winger and playing one-on-one against (Alphonso) Davies is impossible. The fans are phenomenal because I think they have shown they understand what happened today."
