Laporta Said, Before Messi Went To PSG, Neymar Said He Wanted To Return To Barcelona

JAKARTA - Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker Neymar wants to return to the Blaugrana before the departure of Lionel Messi.

Quoted by Antara from Sky Sports, Thursday, Laporta claimed he had already held talks with Neymar about the possibility of returning to Barcelona earlier this year.

Laporta added that Neymar admitted that he wanted to return to Barcelona, but along with the financial policies set by La Liga, it did not happen.

"We tried to sign Neymar. From the conversations we had, he saw this as an attractive offer and he really wanted to come," Laporta told Esport3.

"We interpret fair play differently, but based on the way (Javier) Tebas (La Liga president) interprets it, there is no point in making that offer."

In the end, the financial policy of La Liga made Barcelona have to give up their star player, Lionel Messi to leave for Paris Saint-Germain.

Along with the departure of Lionel Messi, the opportunity to sign Neymar seemed to disappear as the two players joined Paris Saint-Germain.
