Jorginho's Agent Confirms That He Has Tried To Sign For Juventus

JAKARTA - The agent of Italian midfielder Jorginho, Joao Santos confirmed that his client had tried to be brought in by Juventus when he was coached by Maurizio Sarri.

Quoted from Antara from Football Italia, Monday, September 6, Santos said Juventus had the possibility to bring in his client precisely in the 2019/2020 season.

"In the past, when Sarri was the coach, there was a chance Jorginho would come to Juventus," Santos told Radio Bianconera.

Santos continued, the director of Juventus had made an approach because of the opportunity at that time.

Furthermore, Santos assesses that Jorginho currently has the opportunity to get the Ballon d'Or because of the trophy he has won this year.

"The Juventus director has made an approach, it used to be a possibility. I think Jorginho has a good chance to win the Ballon d'Or, because we usually think of Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, but this year no one won more than Jorginho," said Santos.

Santos explained Jorginho had a desire to return to Italy but the player was still under contract at Chelsea and wanted to try to win the World Cup first.

He and Jorginho will see the situation in the transfer market going forward and what the situation is elsewhere.

"He has a contract with Chelsea until 2023. Of course it is a dream for him to return to Italy, hopefully after winning the World Cup.

"We have to see what will happen in the transfer market in the next few years and what the situation is," said Santos.

Jorginho that year had success at club and national level, bringing Chelsea to the Champions League title and the Italian national team winning the Euro 2020.

In addition, Jorginho recently won the UEFA Player of the Year award beating his Chelsea team-mate N'golo Kante and Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne.
