JAKARTA - Robbie Fowler's tenure at the Brisbane Roar ends. He only led the A-League club in 24 matches.
The club's official website confirmed on Monday, June 29, that Fowler and his assistant Tony Grant will not return to the club as the season continues.
During his time in charge of Brisbane, the former Liverpool striker earned 11 wins in 24 matches.
"On behalf of myself and Tony I would like to thank the club for this opportunity, and the Brisbane Roar FC fans for their warm welcome and support for me and the team," said Fowler.
"We are very proud of what we achieved."
Brisbane was fourth in the standings when the season was suspended in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Competition will restart next month.

"Robbie not only provides stability but a refreshing injection of knowledge and insight into Roar," said Roar vice chairman, Chris Fong.
"We are disappointed that the global pandemic has affected our plans, but fully understand that the family comes first during these difficult times."
Meanwhile, responding to Liverpool's first Premier League title in 30 years won by the Reds last week, Fowler called coach Jurgen Klopp worthy of being labeled a new 'god'. The real god nickname was ever pinned to Fowler during the Reds' uniform.

“I think I should give up this god's nickname and give it to Jurgen. He can be called a god, right? I will give up the title for him, "said Fowler to launch Soccerway.
“I feel brilliant. I know I haven't played for Liverpool in a while, but to be here and witness, it's a really extraordinary thing. Since Jurgen has been at the club, I think the trust he has given means a lot to the players, ”added the man who was originally educated by the Liverpool academy.
Fowler played for Liverpool in two terms. In 1993 to 2001, he moved to Leeds United and Manchester City and returned for the 2006-2007 season. He recorded 128 goals in the league while in the Reds' shirt.
