Finally, Real Madrid Score Free Kick Goals After 528 Days

JAKARTA - Real Madrid scored their first free-kick goal in 528 days. It was Sergio Ramos who tore Real Mallorca's net in the match which took place at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium, Thursday, June 25 in the morning.

Los Blancos have struggled to convert the ball from free kicks since Cristiano Ronaldo left Madrid for Juventus two years ago. Even though specialists like Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos were there, they had not been able to score goals from free kicks for 1.5 years.

Ramos finally broke the drought. His superb free kick from the edge of the area ripped off the top right of Mallorca's net to double Real Madrid's lead. Madrid previously scored through Vinicius Junior in the 2-0 win.

This is the 69th La Liga Ramos goal. After last Sunday the captain was listed as the defender who scored the most goals in La Liga history.

This record was created when Los Blancos beat Real Sociedad at Anoeta with a score of 2-1.

Launching MARCA, Dani Ceballos became the last Real Madrid player to score from a free kick. He did it against Real Betis in January 2019.

Apart from Ramos, Vinicius Junior also has his own special notes. He scored his first goal since La Liga started again. The Brazilian received the ball from Luka Modric to the left of the penalty area before tucking it into the top of Manolo Reina's goal.

The 19-year-old proves that Zinedine Zidane's choice of placing him in the starting line-up alongside Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema is not wrong.

Vinicius almost doubled his goal against Mallorca. But his shot over the crossbar. If he were more calm, it would be his first double for Los Blancos.
