JAKARTA - Argentina national team captain Lionel Messi officially joined Paris Saint-Germain. With a contract duration of two years until June 2024, according to Fabrizio Romano, La Pulga will earn a salary of 35 million euros (Rp590 billion) per year plus incentives and various bonuses.

In a press conference held on Wednesday, Messi said PSG had a vision that matched his ambitions.

"I can't wait to start a new chapter in my career at Paris Saint-Germain. Everything about this club matches my ambitions," said Messi as quoted by Antara from the PSG page.

"I know the squad and coaching staff here are very talented. I want to do great things for the club and the fans. I can't wait to get on the Parc des Princes pitch."

At Paris Saint-Germain, La Pulga will wear the number 30 shirt, the same as the one he wore when he first started in the Barcelona first team.

Messi's arrival at PSG is expected to boost Le Parisiens' achievements in European football by aiming for the Champions League title.

With Barcelona, Lionel Messi has won four Champions League titles in 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2015.
