JAKARTA - The Indonesian contingent will continue their struggle at the Tokyo Olympics, Tuesday, July 27, starting from badminton when the pair Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan (The Daddies) chase a ticket to the quarter-finals from Group D.

The Daddies will face South Korean representatives Choi Solgyu/Seo Seungjae at Musashino Forest Sport Plaza, Tokyo. Victory is clearly their target.

"These Korean athletes have good power, their defense is quite tight," Ahsan said as quoted by Antara.

Not only the world number two pair, Kevin Sanjaya/Marcus Gideon (Minions) who are the world's number one pair will also have their final Group A elimination match against the Taiwanese pair, Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin.

"We want to win the gold medal, but the game is still long. We don't want to add to that pressure," said Marcus after winning the second group stage match against Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty.

Next in the women's doubles, Greysia/Apriyani, who is ranked sixth in the world, will face Fukushima/Hirota who are the world's number one women's doubles in Group A. This will not be an easy opponent for the Indonesian pair.

"The important thing is to be mentally prepared, ready to be tired and don't forget, you have to keep expectations. If it's a strategy issue, it doesn't need to be discussed," said the Indonesian badminton women's doubles coach Eng Hian.

In addition to badminton, Arif Dwi Pangestu will also compete in the men's individual number archery. In the round of 32 at Yumenoshima Park, Arif will face German archer Florian Unruh.
