Messi Or Ronaldo, Muller: I Choose Lewandowski

JAKARTA - Thomas Muller made a shocking and logical statement. He prefers to play with his Bayern Munich teammate Robert Lewandowski than with Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.

In a remote press conference on Wednesday, Muller was asked if he would rather have Messi or Ronaldo as his team-mate.

The Bayern forward admits his style of play would work better with Ronaldo than Messi, but he claims Lewandowski will be above both.

Former Germany international Muller has provided 18 assists in the Bundesliga this season, while Lewandowski has scored 29 goals as Bayern march towards another title.

However, the World Cup winner admits Messi and Ronaldo are extraordinary and cannot be compared to other players.

"Maybe in the last few years I want to play with Leo Messi, because in the first six or seven years of my career, I was more of a (ball) receiving striker,"

"I get the ball in the box and try to score goals. At the moment, in my very good form at the moment, I am involved in a lot of goals.

"Maybe now I need more Cristiano Ronaldo to score goals, but we at Bayern have Robert 'Lewan-goal-ski'! I think maybe right now he is a better choice than Cristiano.

"I played against [Messi and Ronaldo], I won against both of them, I lost against both of them.

"They are very, very good, they are special, they are not like normal players who are very good in world football. They are amazing because they always play to their limits.

"Always, their full 10 years, they score 50 goals every year. That's crazy.

"On my way to the World Cup, we won with Germany against both of them. On my way to some of the Champions League finals, we won against both of them.

"Every football player also needs a team, and that's why we love football so much."
