JAKARTA - Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the transfer window this summer, after they were recently confirmed to secure the services of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, The Sun reported on Friday.
The Red Devils are known to be looking for a new striker as a long-term replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who moved to Inter Milan in 2019.
United consider the 24-year-old England striker as their ideal candidate.
Calvert-Lewin had the best season of his career in 2020-21 scoring 21 goals in 39 appearances to become the Toffees player of the year.
That goal tally sees him level with England team-mate Marcus Rashford and four more goals than Edinson Cavani.
Mason Greenwood scored 12 goals, while Anthony Martial had seven goals, but Bruno Fernandes scored the most with 28.
United legend Rio Ferdinand believes his former club should target Calvert-Lewin instead of Spurs' Harry Kane and Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
"I prefer Dominic Calvert-Lewin, I like him," Ferndan said in an interview.
