YOGYAKARTA - The National Collegiate Futsal Series (NCFS) National Stage 2026 was officially launched which marked the start of the national round of the futsal competition for university students which took place on June 11-13, 2026 at the Nusantara GOR Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Yogyakarta.

The tight competition will be presented at NCFS which enters its second year of national-level implementation. Moreover, NCFS is strengthening its position as one of the most competitive futsal competitions between universities in Indonesia.

The defending champion, State Polytechnic of Agriculture Samarinda (Politani Samarinda), will work hard to win the trophy again. They received serious threats from a number of new challenger campuses that came with ammunition that could not be taken lightly.

In fact, some of them are strengthened by players who have tasted the atmosphere of professional competition. In addition, there is the State University of Yogyakarta (UNY) which acts as the 'host'.

The UNY team is sure to get support from fans because they are playing at home. UNY will also be more confident with the presence of M. Nizar, the goalkeeper of the Indonesian national futsal team.

The reason is that Nizar is a UNY alumnus. Nizar's presence on the NCFS National Stage is a symbol of the success of sports coaching in the university environment, as well as providing inspiration for participants that student competitions can be one of the paths to the professional level to defend the national team.

CEO and Co-Founder of Games of Society, Novel Leonardo, in his statement, appreciated the students who were able to achieve achievements in the non-academic field through futsal.

He also emphasized that students should be proud of the achievements achieved through this path. According to him, campus sports have an important role in shaping character, leadership, and opening up opportunities for achievements at a higher level.

"Non-academic achievements are something to be proud of. Competitions like NCFS provide space for students to develop and show their best abilities. It is not impossible that some of the players who compete will be part of the Indonesian national team in the future," said Novel Leonardo in Yogyakarta, Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

The novel also states unequivocally that the quality of the NCFS continues to improve year by year. One form of commitment is by presenting match officials and referees licensed by the national and FIFA to ensure that the match takes place professionally, fairly, and according to the highest competition standards.

"NCFS is entering the second year of the National Stage and we see competition between faculties and campuses becoming more competitive. The quality of the team is improving, the enthusiasm of the campus is getting bigger, and the level of the match is constantly evolving," Novel added.

Support for the implementation of NCFS was also conveyed by the Secretary General of Asprov PSSI DIY, Wendy Umar. According to him, Asprov PSSI DIY welcomes the presence of a tiered competition for students as part of strengthening the development of sports achievements in the region.

"Competitions that are tiered and sustainable such as NCFS are very important spaces for students to gain quality competition experience while strengthening the Indonesian futsal coaching ecosystem from grassroots level to achievements," said Wendy.

In line with this, the Acting Chairman of the Association of Futsal Provinces (AFP) DIY, Esdy Irfanuddin, assessed that NCFS is a strategic platform in the process of identifying, coaching, and developing young Indonesian futsal talent.

Esdy said that the more quality competitions available for students, the greater the opportunity for potential players to contribute to professional clubs, regional teams, and the national team in the future.

The increasingly tight competition is predicted to present high-quality matches throughout the tournament and make the national championship title more open than the previous edition.

Through a healthy, professional, and high-standard competition, NCFS which has the support of BNI and Yamaha is expected to be

not only as a venue for the national futsal championship for students, but also as a space for collaboration between campuses, federations, sponsors, and sports communities in building a stronger future for Indonesian futsal.

NCFS National Stage 2026 was attended by 10 campuses, STIEM Bongaya (Makassar), Ahmad Dahlan Technology and Business Institute (Depok), STOK Bina Guna (Medan), State Agricultural Polytechnic Samarinda Samarinda), STKIP Pasundan, Cimahi (Bandung), Insan Budi Utomo University (Malang), State University of Semarang (Semarang), STIE Indonesia (Jakarta), Bhayangkara University Surabaya (Surabaya),
