The athlete release ceremony took place at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center, East Jakarta, Wednesday (15/4/2026), which was attended by the Chairman of the PP PBSI M. Fadil Imran, the board of directors, and strategic partners, including BNI which has long supported the development of national badminton.

A total of 20 of Indonesia's best athletes will compete with the spirit of the Red and White. In the Thomas Cup, Indonesia is strengthened by top players such as Jonatan Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, as well as the men's doubles Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri. Meanwhile, in the Uber Cup, Putri Kusuma Wardani and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti are part of the squad that is expected to be able to deliver the best results.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo emphasized that support for the national team is not merely participation, but part of a long-term commitment in building a sustainable sports ecosystem.

"BNI believes that sports achievements are a reflection of national competitiveness. Therefore, we are not only present during the momentum of the competition, but also consistently support the process of coaching athletes from an early age to the elite level," said Okki.

For more than five years as a strategic partner of PBSI, BNI has played an active role in supporting various coaching programs, ranging from national events, participation in international tournaments, to the development of young athletes in various regions.

According to Okki, this involvement is not only limited to sponsorship support, but also a real contribution in producing superior human resources who are able to compete globally.

"The participation of the national team in the 2026 Thomas and Uber Cup is not only about chasing the title, but also continuing the legacy of the nation's achievements. BNI will continue to stand together with the athletes, accompanying every step towards the world podium," he added.

With the continued support of various parties, including the banking sector, it is hoped that the Indonesian badminton team will be able to perform optimally and once again carve out achievements in the international arena.

In the future, the synergy between the business and sports worlds is expected to further strengthen the foundation for the development of national athletes while maintaining the tradition of Indonesian champions on the world stage. (ADV)
