JAKARTA - Tyson Fury wants the duel against Anthony Joshua to be on the next fight list after he returns to the heavyweight boxing ring against Arslanbek Makhmudov which will take place this weekend.

Fury, 37, is scheduled to face the Russian at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, England, on Saturday, April 11, 2026. It was his first appearance after deciding to retire which only lasted 16 months.

"I have to think about Arslanbek Makhmudov this weekend, but if everything goes well then (facing) Joshua is the next fight I want," Fury said.

The super fight between the two British boxers has only been a discourse. However, now there is a new hope regarding the possibility of their meeting - a clash that many fans have been waiting for.

Joshua, 36, last fought in December last year. He defeated Jake Paul - a YouTuber who has just switched to the professional boxing world - with a knockout (KO) in the sixth round in an official professional match.

A fight against Fury was being planned after the victory, but those plans were then halted as Joshua was involved in a car crash in Nigeria that killed two close friends.

"I know he just fought Jake Paul, whatever. The fight is still a fight. So, yeah, I'll be ready for that fight as soon as this (against Makhmudov)," Fury said.

Joshua and Fury are both two-time heavyweight world champions and have led British boxing on the global stage for almost a decade. Even though their careers are so twilight, the clash between the two is expected to still have commercial weight.

Fury has a record of 37 fights with a breakdown of 34 wins (10 KO), one draw, and two losses. Meanwhile, Joshua has a total of 33 fights (29 wins and four losses).
