Fabregas wants Bombonera-like atmosphere to put Inter under pressure in Coppa Italia

JAKARTA - Cesc Fabregas urges Como supporters to turn the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium into a "little Bombonera" for the Coppa Italia match against Inter Milan on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, early morning WIB.

Fabregas' team will face the Serie A leaders in the first leg of the semi-final. The former Arsenal midfielder wants the home fans to create an atmosphere comparable to the famous Boca Juniors stadium in Buenos Aires.

"This is a big moment of the season, but we have to give this game the attention it deserves. The stadium has to be like a little Bombonera."

"Inter Milan are the strongest team in the league, they have been like that for years, and have great players. We will try to show a great performance, knowing their strengths, and some of their weaknesses. We will try to make it difficult for them."

"We hope to play well. We have to go through the game one by one because this is a long season for us. We'll see how many games we can win from now until the end," Fabregas said on the club's website.

Como is in fifth place in Serie A, three points behind Roma in fourth place. They still have a chance to qualify for the Champions League next season after a 3-1 home win against Lecce on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

Meanwhile, on the Inter Milan side, they bounced back from last week's Champions League defeat after losing 2-5 on aggregate to Bodo/Glimt by beating Genoa 2-0 at the Giuseppe Meazza and are 10 points clear at the top of the table.

The Nerazzurri are still without captain Lautaro Martinez (calf injury), but defender Alessandro Bastoni is available after serving a suspension.

Duo Como, Martin Baturina (ankle injury) and Jayden Addai (Achilles tendon injury) were absent in last week's victory, but Assane Diao returned from his long injury against Lecce and is ready to play.

After 40 years, Como finally managed to qualify for the semi-final stage of the Coppa Italia after defeating Antonio Conte's Napoli in the quarter-finals.
