Environmental-minded Ngabuburit: PP ALTI Greened Mount Pancar with Hundreds of Trees

BOGOR - Entering the holy month of Ramadan, the Indonesian Trail Running Association (PP ALTI) chose a unique way to fill the time for breaking the fast or ngabuburit. On Saturday (28/2/2026), they held an action to plant 100 damar trees and 100 coffee trees in the Abah Donny Hill area, Pancar Mountain, Sentul.

This activity is not just a ceremony, but a tangible form of the commitment of the trail running community in maintaining the sustainability of nature which is their main "playground".

"We Care for Nature, Nature Cares for Us"

Even though it was raining, the participants' spirits did not waver. While walking along the challenging extreme track, each participant seemed enthusiastic about bringing tree seeds to be planted at the designated points.

"The spirit that we carry is 'We take care of nature, nature takes care of us'. This is a form of moral responsibility of trail runners towards the environment," said a representative from the PP ALTI on the sidelines of the activity.

The host of this activity, Abah Donny, who also serves as the General Secretary (Sekum) of the PP ALTI, led this green action directly. Also present were other central management, including:

Community and Penjaringan Trail Run Athletes Synergy

Apart from the ecological mission, this Fun Trail activity is also a strategic means for PP ALTI to strengthen relations with various running communities in Indonesia.

PP ALTI considers that recreational activities like this are an effective gateway to recruit potential athlete seeds. Through the synergy between official competitions and fun trail activities, it is hoped that the trail running sports ecosystem in Indonesia will be more solid and achieve success in the international arena.

The activity was closed with a friendly session and breaking the fast together, strengthening solidarity among trail runners while enjoying the fresh air after the rain in Mount Pancar.
