BATC 2026 Draw: Indonesian Women's Team Meets Thailand in the Quarterfinals

The Indonesian women's team will meet Thailand in the 2026 BATC quarterfinal (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian women's badminton squad is guaranteed to meet Thailand in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Badminton Asia Team Championship or Badminton Asia Team Championship (BATC) after qualifying as runners-up from the group stage.

The draw for the quarterfinal round was immediately carried out after the last match of the group stage was completed on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Qingdao Conson Gymnasium, China.

Indonesia lost in the last match against Japan so they qualified as runners-up from Group X and will face Thailand who are the champions of Group Y. The White Elephant won all two matches against India and Myanmar.

In the last group match against Japan, the Indonesian women's team suffered a narrow 2-3 defeat. Two points for Garuda in the match were contributed by the women's doubles Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum and Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi.

The other three representatives who failed to contribute to Indonesia were the women's doubles Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and the women's singles Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari and Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan.

Indonesia's only victory in the group stage was against Hong Kong in the first match. At that time, Ester Nurumi and her friends managed to win with a landslide score of 4-1.

Meeting Thailand is an advantage for Indonesia because it avoids strong teams like China and South Korea (South Korea). If they can overcome Thailand, Mutiara and friends will meet South Korea or Malaysia in the semifinals.
