Amorim Values There are Positive Things from Manchester United's Defeat vs Aston Villa even though he admits to being Frustrated

JAKARTA - Manchester United has not been able to win two consecutive victories since the last time they did so in late October 2025.

The Red Devils' journey is full of stumbling blocks again. Facing Aston Villa on Sunday, December 21, 2025, Ruben Amorim's troops lost 1-2 at Villa Park.

After back-to-back wins over Liverpool and Brighton in October 2025, Manchester United picked up two wins, four draws, and two losses.

However, Amorim still sees the positive side of his team, especially in the match against Aston Villa.

"I think we played really well. I think we were the better team. If you look at the early minutes of the game, I think we created our chances."

"We are very consistent in the way we play and create chances. We defend well, we often do one-on-one duels, especially when Martinez has the ball. We try to recover quickly," said Amorim.

However, the Portuguese coach did not deny that there was still frustration experienced by his students.

"Once again, I think we played well. However, there is still a feeling of frustration. So, we need to take the positives and prepare for the next game," he said.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes was forced off at the break. He had been limping at the end of the first half with an injury.

However, Amorim assessed that his team still performed well after Fernandes was replaced. The coach seemed to confirm that Manchester United was still fine without the Portuguese midfielder.

As is known, Fernandes is currently being heavily rumored to leave Old Trafford, at the earliest in the winter transfer window, January 2026.
