Win Two SEA Games Gold while Pregnant, Diananda: There is Help from the Child in the Content

JAKARTA - Archery athlete Diananda Choirunisa feels that "there is help" from her child who is in her womb, which makes her manage to bring home two gold medals from the 2025 Thailand SEA Games multi-branch sports event.

Diananda successfully secured two gold medals - one from the recurve doubles and one from the recurve singles - despite competing while pregnant.

He only found out he was pregnant just before playing the final match in the individual number at Hua Mak Stadium on Wednesday, December 12, 2025. He initially felt the typical nausea of early pregnancy in the morning, but was actually stable when he was at the target line.

Instead of being a mental burden, the news of the pregnancy was actually a catalyst for Diananda. He said that the child he was pregnant with seemed to "help" him when he was aiming for the target.

"When I found out I was pregnant, I felt that I was not the only one who was pregnant, but my child was too. So it was a source of encouragement," said Diananda.

Two gold medals in Thailand improved Diananda's record from the previous edition of the SEA Games which took place in Cambodia in 2023. At that time he brought home silver and bronze.

The success of buying two gold in the middle of pregnancy that had just stepped into two weeks was acknowledged as a blessing and a challenge that was successfully conquered through adrenaline.

Diananda added that in addition to the baby he was carrying, he also received tremendous support from his family, especially the presence of his husband and his parents in the competition arena.

"Family support is really great. When I found out I was pregnant, everything I wanted was immediately fulfilled," he added while joking.

The achievement in Thailand makes Diananda will get a big bonus. From the individual number he is sure to receive Rp. 1 billion so it is certain that he will pocket more in accordance with his performance.

SEA Games 2025 Thailand will play the last race today. Indonesia has so far collected 91 gold medals and is in second place, ahead of Vietnam in third place.
