BANGKOK - The Indonesian canoe and kayak team immediately shifted their focus to the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games after closing the 2025 Thailand SEA Games with 13 medals from various competitions.

On the last day of the competition, yesterday, from the canoe discipline, Indonesia added three bronze medals through the Women's Canoe Double 200 meter, Men's Canoe Four 200 meter, and Men's Kayak Four 200 meter.
The medals confirmed the consistency of the Indonesian canoe and kayak team throughout the 2025 SEA Games.
One of Indonesia's kayak athletes, Indra Hidayat, said the results at the SEA Games were the starting point for a bigger target, including the 2026 Asian Beach Games and the 2026 Asian Games.
"Next, we want to improve the quality of training, increase flying hours, and be more disciplined so that we can compete at the Asian level," said Indra, quoted by Antara, Saturday, December 13.

Meanwhile, Septiana Krisna, who won the silver medal in Men's Kayak Single Slalom, said he was proud of his achievement, especially the 2025 SEA Games being his debut in the Southeast Asian multi-event.
"I am very proud because this is my first SEA Games and I can contribute a medal for Indonesia," said Septiana.
