SEA Games 2025 Volleyball Results: Indonesian Women's Team Win 3-0 Against Malaysia

The Indonesian Women's Volleyball national team won the first game of the 2025 SEA Games group phase (doc. PBVSI).

JAKARTA The National Team (Timnas) of the Indonesian Women's Volleyball successfully won in the first match in the preliminary round of the 2025 Thailand SEA Games Pool B against Malaysia.

The match between Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi and colleagues against Malaysia took place at the Huamar Indoor Stadium on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. The Garuda Pertiwi squad won a landslide victory with a score of 3-0 (25-12, 25-12, and 25-16).

Indonesia started their journey convincingly in the first set, scoring six points in a row. Malaysia then scored two points to thin the score gap, but Megawati and her friends immediately stepped back on the gas.

Indonesia's points flowed non-stop after that and managed to widen to 19-10. Malaysia's struggle to get closer is really very difficult so that it can only produce two more points.

At the beginning of the second set, Malaysia tried to put up a fight against Indonesia by successfully equalizing the score to 2-2. However, after that their points began to stall and on the contrary, Indonesia was tricked.

Furthermore, in the third game, Malaysia made a surprise getting the first point and had led 8-4. Indonesia then tried to slowly catch up and finally equalized the score 10-10.

The fierce battle took place after that until the position was 13-13. Indonesia then scored three points in a row to take the lead over Malaysia and could no longer be overtaken.

Victory makes Indonesia temporarily top the Pool B standings with a collection of three points. Furthermore, Indonesia will face Myanmar in the same location on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

Indonesia's journey in the group stage was then closed against Vietnam on Friday, December 12, 2025. From the group stage, only two of the best teams in the final standings were entitled to tickets for the semifinals.
