SEA Games 2025: The Indonesian Men's 5s Hockey National Team To Malaysia's Challenge Final After Silence Thailand

The Indonesian Men's Hockey national team beat Thailand in the semifinals to fight for the 2025 SEA Games gold medal against Malaysia (doc. PP FHI).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Men's 5s Hockey national team managed to secure a place in the 2025 SEA Games finals after defeating Thailand in the semifinals.

In the match which took place at the RTA Hockey Stadium Don Muang, Thailand, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, morning WIB, the Indonesian national team bulldozed the hosts with a convincing final score of 8-3.

Taking place at 10.00 WIB, the match which took place in the two games became a stage for the Red-White Team's ability to show. Mochamad Fathur became the star of the Indonesian national team by scoring four goals, followed by Ahdan Asasi with two goals, Achmad Fachrizal and Kroeksak Philata with one goal each.

The success towards this final round was appreciated by the Secretary General of the Central Management of the Indonesian Hockey Federation (PP FHI), Yasser Arafat Suaidy. He hopes that in the final round, the Indonesian Hockey National Team can present gold

"Alhamdulillah, the Indonesian Men's 5s Hockey National Team has successfully stepped into the final. Pray for us to be able to present a gold medal for the Indonesian contingent," said Yasser Arafat Suaidy in an official statement.

After defeating Thailand in the semifinals, the Indonesian national team did not have much time. On the same day, the final will be held at 15.30 WIB.

This final match will bring together Indonesia and Malaysia. The neighboring country team previously confirmed a ticket to the final after defeating the Philippines with a landslide score of 10-1.

Unfortunately, the success of the 5s Putra Indonesia Hockey national team failed to be imitated by the women's team. When appearing in the semifinals against Thailand, the women's team lost with a score of 2-7.
