JAKARTA The Indonesian teqball contingent brought eight athletes to the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand next week with the target of bringing home one gold and silver and bronze medals for two each.
Chairman of the Central Board of the Indonesian Teqball Sports Association (PP POTSI), Jovinus Carolus Legawa, said that the team's preparations had been going on since June 2025, including appearing in several important international events, such as the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Bahrain.
"The opportunity to win gold is in almost all numbers. However, this will be determined which one is the most prepared during the match. We hope to be more, but one gold as the initial target," said Jovinus in Jakarta.

In addition to appearing in international events and National Championships (Kejurnas) in Jakarta, the team also finalized preparations for the national training camp (pelatnas) from August to December 2025.
Juvinus said that after conducting a thorough mapping with the coaching team, the women's and men's singles sector had a great opportunity to win the gold medal from five numbers followed by teqball.
"We are assisted by a coach from Hungary, Gabriella Kota. He came to see the potential of our athletes, so when we set the target we saw which side could produce medals," he said.
Gabriella said that her squad could meet the medal target at the biennial multi-pronged sporting event.
The coach, who is also still active as a player, said that the target of five medals, including one gold, is very likely to be achieved because the composition of his squad is still young and potential.
"This will be a big international match for them. So, I think if we can reach the five finals so, we also have a good opportunity to secure a gold medal," he said in Jakarta.
Gabriella hopes that the Indonesian teqball team can perform well and be stable during the competition. He also revealed that all players were really relaxed and not under pressure to face the biennial event.
"I think it's now safe to say that we're ready for the SEA Games. I think they've grown a lot in the last three months. So, I think they're looking forward to it and ready to face this event," he said.
Hungarian Ambassador to Indonesia, HE Lilla Karsay, also hopes that the Indonesian teqball team will succeed in achieving the best results in the White Elephant Country later.
"Hopefully Indonesia will succeed in winning gold during teqball for the first time being competed in the SEA Games after two years ago Cambodia's exhibition," said Lilla.
