Chelsea Destroys 10 Barcelona Players

JAKARTA - Chelsea performed optimally and showed dominance when destroying Barcelona 3-0 in the Champions League preliminary match. In a duel at Stamford Bridge Stadium, Wednesday, November 26, 2025 in the morning WIB, Barca had to be with 10 people after Ronald Araujo's red card in the 44th minute.

Barca England when they visited Chelsea's headquarters. The Spanish LaLiga giant lost strength and Lamine Yamal's young star failed to show his best performance. In fact, he dimmed when Chelsea's young star, Estevoo Willian actually shined and contributed one goal in the big match.

Chelsea fans also called for Estevoo's name and mocked Yamal who did not move until he was finally pulled out and replaced by Dani Olmo.

Barca's big defeat remained surprising as they played impressively in the domestic competition. Barca successfully beat Celta Vigo 4-2 and then destroyed Athletic Bilbao 4-0.

A landslide victory over Athletic became a valuable asset for Hansi Flick's team during the Champions League match. Moreover, they managed to close the distance between points and the leaders of the Real Madrid standings.

But what happened was beyond Flick's scenario. Barca played under pressure and were unable to break into Chelsea's goal despite lowering a row of goalsight players. Starting from the centre forward Robert Lewandowski, supported by Ferran Torres and Fermin Lopez and Yamal himself.

Even when the game had only been running for three minutes, Barca's goal had conceded when Enzo Fernandez met Reece James' pass. Only the goal was disallowed because James was declared to have touched the ball before releasing a pass to the Argentine national team midfielder.

Not long after, Fernandez broke into the Blaugrana goal for the second time in the 23rd minute. But again the goal was disallowed. This time defender Trevor Chalobah was declared offside before releasing a pass to be completed by Fernandez.

After two goals were disallowed, Chelsea lost their spirits. With the advantage of possession up to 59%, they still dominated the game. The Blues attack finally paid off despite being created through Jules Kounde's own goal in the 27th minute.

Starting from a short corner that was received by defender Marc Cucurella who then released a pass at Pedro Neto. The Portuguese national team player made a back-heel kick that Kounde wanted to prevent.

However, there was a miscommunication between Kounde and Torres which led to a blunder. Kounde's efforts actually made the ball slide into the net itself.

Winning 1-0 made Enzo Maresca's team play more aggressively. On the other hand, Barca were unable to get out of the pressure. Moreover, defender Araujo then committed a fatal foul on Cucurella towards the end of the first half. His violation resulted in a second yellow card which was then a red card.

Barca also started the second half with 10 players and trailed by one goal. Chelsea seems to have put the number of players in good use.

Winger Alejandro Garnacho actually managed to break into Barca's goal in the early minutes of the match. But the goal was disallowed because he was in an offside position.

However, the hosts did not take long to increase their lead. In the 55th minute, Estevao showed the individual action of a typical Brazilian player when scoring. Receiving the ball from Andrey Santos who came in to replace Malo Gusto, he danced past two Barca defenders before releasing a shot into the net.

The 18-year-old's goal, which changed the score to 2-0, immediately broke the mentality of Barca's players. Moreover, Liam Delap, who finished Fernandez's pass, then solidified Chelsea's victory in the 73rd minute. However, the goal was reviewed via VAR because of a possible offside.

After reviewing it, the referee finished no offside and still approved the goal. The score changed to 3-0 for Chelsea and lasted until the game was over.

The victory brought Chelsea to fifth place or into the automatic qualifying zone by pocketing 10 points. Meanwhile, Barca, which has seven points, are stuck in 15th place.
