PSSI Roadmap Becomes Hot Talk, Head Of The National Team Agency Reluctant To Respond

In a roadmap that is currently going viral, PSSI targets the Indonesian national team to pass the World Cup routine starting 2030 (VOI/Karisa Aurelia Tukan).

JAKARTA - The head of the National Team Agency (BTN), Sumardji, expressed his response to the viral PSSI roadmap which has become a hot topic of conversation lately. He said that the source of the news circulating was still confusing.

"I can't answer yet, I won't comment on that (roadmap). Where does the source come from, I also don't know this. Yes, right? Where did the source come from? Is it sourced from PSSI?" Sumardji said in a statement at the Madya Stadium, Senayan, quoted Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

The roadmap, one of which contains Indonesia's target at the 2030 World Cup, circulated one month after the Indonesian national team failed to penetrate the 2026 World Cup last month.

According to the documents circulating, this roadmap contains Indonesia's strategic road to 2034. The foundations it uses are "Unification and Inspiration of the Nation", with the identity of the team built by the unitary (unity), bravery, and excellence (perfection).

From the information circulating, it can be seen that the mission towards 2034 is PSSI focusing on building a system that is interconnected and producing a new generation of players so that Indonesia penetrates the last eight of Asia, regularly passes the World Cup, and is ranked FIFA 60'70.

In the initial phase, this roadmap contains PSSI targets and plans starting in 2026. The program includes competing in the top eight of the Asian Cup and breaking into the 110 FIFA rankings, as well as building the U-23 squad for the 2027 Asian Cup Qualification.

PSSI also wants to connect the best U-20 and U-23 players to the senior Indonesian national team, ensuring U-17 and U-20 qualify for the Asian Cup, launching the U-15 and U-16 teams to strengthen the coaching line, to establish the U-14 and U-15 Regional Talent Centers in four regions to expand the national scoring network.

Although it has been clearly displayed how the roadmap is in circulation. However, Sumardji did not want to comment much because he doubted the validation of the source.

"Yes, ask where the first source came from. I also don't know because I haven't been told yet," he said.
