Mario Aji Ready To Fight In The 2026 Season After Making A Record

JAKARTA Mario Aji is ready to prove himself and perform better next year after setting a record point in the Moto2 race season 2025.

The Idemitsu Honda Team Asia racer completed his journey this season with eight points, which is a record for Indonesian racers at the Grand Prix.

"Next year is the time. I don't want to talk, I want to show it with hard work," said Mario Aji as quoted from the Idemitsu Honda Team Asia website.

The 21-year-old racer has had a challenging season throughout 2025. He struggled more with injuries and missed many races.

After a promising start to the season, he even went up the operating table due to the shoulder dislocation, causing him to step back and miss the 10 series of races.

"I want to express my deepest gratitude to my team, they have given everything, and it's a shame I can't reply to the results they deserve," said Mario.

This year's eight points made Mario sit in 26th position in the drivers' final standings. That's an increase from his achievements in the 2024 season, where he got four points and sit in 29th position.

In addition, Mario has been quite competitive in recent races. He even qualified directly for the Second Qualification (Q2) in Moto2.

"Now I have to focus, work hard this winter, and next year's results will show how much effort I've put in," Mario said.
