Kumamoto Masters 2025 Final Results: Gregoria Runner Up After Conquering Ratchanok Intanon

JAKARTA - The Indonesian women's singles badminton player, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, had to settle for runner-up status at the 2025 Kumamoto Masters. He lost in the final after Ratchanok Intanon's meeting.

In the match which took place at the Kumamoto Prefectural Gymnasium, Sunday, November 16 at noon WIB, Gregoria fell in two sets with a final score of 16-21 and 20-22.

Gregoria was under pressure from Ratchanok at the start of the first game because the Thai representative could continue to gain points so that he was 7-2 ahead at the start of the first game. Gregoria then got up to collect seven points in a row to turn things around to lead 9-7 to 11-8 during the first game interval.

After the first interval, Ratchanok was able to win four points to a narrow 12-11 lead over Gregoria. Ratchanok was slowly able to distance himself from winning 16-14 until closing the first game with a score of 21-16.

Continuing in the second game, Ratchanok immediately shot up with a 5-1 advantage over Gregoria and continued to lead 11-6 during the second game interval.

Gregoria was close to 13-15 in the middle of the second game. Gregoria was even able to thwart Ratchanok's four match points even though they ended up losing 20-22 in the second game.
