The U-23 Indonesian National Team Trial Against Mali Is Not Included In The FIFA Counting

The U-23 Indonesian national team scheduled a trial during FIFA Matchday (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The U-23 Indonesian national team will undergo a trial match against Mali U-23 on 15 and 18 November 2025. Even so, this agenda is certainly not included in the FIFA points in the international calendar.

Two meetings between the U-23 Indonesian national team and Mali will be held at Pakansari Stadium, Bogor Regency. Even though it was held right during the FIFA Matchday calendar, this match was not registered as the main national team.

This is because PSSI has registered the match as a trial for the U-23 age team. Therefore, whatever the results of this match will not affect Indonesia's points in FIFA.

PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) member Sumardji explained that this trial match was not registered as an international match for the first team or FIFA A Match.

"The U-23 Indonesian national team is registered with tier (tier) two, not included in the FIFA ranking count," Sumardji said in a statement quoted on Friday, November 7, 2025.

On the FIFA Matchday calendar for the November 2025 period, PSSI deliberately did not hold a match for the Indonesian national team. PSSI used the window to focus on preparing Garuda Muda.

The U-23 Indonesian national team will appear at the 2025 SEA Games in December. Because time is tight, Indra Sjafri's team is PSSI's top priority.

On the other hand, at the same time the Indonesian national team also did not have a coach. After separating from Patrick Kluivert on October 16, 2025, PSSI has yet to appoint a new figure.
