Taking Part In The 2025 Self-Defense PON Becomes Jujitsu Indonesia's Great Prize

KUDUS - Jujitsu sports (sports) took part in the 2025 Self-Defense PON which was held at the Djarum Arena, Kaliputu, Kudus, Central Java. Participation in this multi-pronged martial arts sport is also considered a big prize for Indonesian jujitsu athletes.

This was stated by the General Chairperson of the Jujitsu Executive Board (PBJI), Dedy Triharjanto. Moreover, on this agenda, 154 athletes from 17 provinces in the country took part in a total of 15 events competed.

"This is extraordinary, PBJI received a very large prize from the Central KONI with 15 match numbers. So now those who have never competed at this level, are now competed in the PON Martial Arts 2025," Dedy opened during a press conference at the Djarum Arena, Kaliputu on Friday, October 24.

"In my opinion, this opportunity can facilitate the potential of our jujitsu athletes throughout Indonesia," he continued, who were present with the Secretary-General of PBJI Ahmad Fakhrizal.

Dedy also assessed that the 2025 Holy Self-Defense PON event was an important event in the selection and coaching process for national jujitsu athletes. According to him, this agenda plays a major role in preparing athletes to appear in various international events, including the 2025 SEA Games Bangkok, December.

The implementation of the 2025 Kudus Self-Defense PON is also said to have contributed to the development of jujitsu sports in various regions. He revealed that there are two new provinces that have succeeded in forming management and sending their athletes to Kudus.

After this event, PBJI is increasingly optimistic that many other provinces will follow similar steps.

"PBJI is in 25 provinces in Indonesia, only a few more that we have to prepare," he said.

Dedy expressed his appreciation to the Central KONI for the successful implementation of the 2025 Kudus Self Defense PON, as well as advised athletes to uphold sportsmanship and stay away from all forms of subjectivity, by prioritizing objective values in every match.

"We hope that through the 2025 Kudus Self-Defense PON, athletes can excel. That is our asset, because we only have the capital of athletes who can fly the Red and White flag abroad," he concluded.
