Megawati Gives An Explanation She Can Play At Bank Jatim And Manisa

JAKARTA volleyball star Megawati Hanggetri Pertiwi gave an explanation regarding her status in defending Bank Jatim and Manisa BBSK.

Megawati actually signed a contract with the Turkish club in early July 2025 and has participated in training with the team. However, the volleyball player nicknamed Megatron is now in Indonesia.

The Jember volleyball player is now strengthening Bank Jatim in the Four Livoli Finals so that he raises questions about himself being able to play in two clubs at once.

To clarify the situation, Bank Jatim and Megawati also gave an explanation. Megawati said that she could defend Bank Jatim because there was an agreement with Manisa.

"From the start, I didn't really want to play outside for this year to be honest. You see, after South Korea maybe my body, I know my agency."

"I don't want high-ranking people to expect. I know the expectations of high-ranking people, but it's all me who know my body."

"So, I decided that this year I don't want to go abroad or play anywhere. So, I just want to be in Indonesia, play in Indonesia, but it's not coercion. It's not coercion from any party," said Megawati.

The agreement with Manisa allowed Megawati to defend Bank Jatim in Final Four Livoli, Main Division 2025. Then, she can still appear at the 2025 SEA Games in December, before continuing her career abroad.

Megawati initially had no plans to play abroad this season because she wanted to focus on recovering her knee which was starting to overuse.

However, Manisa contacted herself repeatedly so that she was willing to accept their proposal. However, he put forward the terms and Manisa agreed.

"So, they are the people who ask why you didn't go to Turkey, yes, this is the answer because it is honestly like this. From the start we were committed," said Megawati.
