JAKARTA - Golfer Suteepat Prateeptianchai from Thailand managed to dominate the first round of the Jakarta International Championship (Jakic) 2025.

The 32-year-old temporarily locked the top position of the standings for the first day which took place on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Damai Indah Golf-Pantaindah Kapuk Golf Course, Jakarta.

He scored 63 (7-at the bottom) to take the lead with one shot from three other golfers, namely Roberto Lebrija (Mexico), Chang Wei-Lun (China Taipei), and Wade Ormsby (Australia), who overshadowed him in second place.

Suteepat's game was not disturbed even though the first round had been stopped for two hours due to rain. He still performed amazingly by starting the game from hole 10 only posting 2-par at first nine (first nine holes).

Then when he entered the second nine holes, he scored five birdsies which temporarily placed him in first place.

"(I) played quite well today. Everything went perfectly. I managed to put a lot of putts, from distances that weren't too far away, the farthest was only 6.5 meters," said Suteepat.

After his victory at the Indonesia Open at the end of August 2025, Suteepat was indeed in high confidence. He also felt that PIK Golf Course really matched his playing style.

"My pre-golf says I can lead here because this field is suitable for me. The Fairway isn't too narrow, but the green is pretty hard. If your ball isn't on the fairway, you can't control the ball," he said.

However, Suteepat's position could be evicted by his compatriot, Pavit Tangkamolprasert, who scored 6-bawah-par in the afternoon schedule and made him likely to poke into second place to join the other three golfers.

He even has an advantage with two holes remaining. The reason is, the Jakarta International Championship 2025 afternoon schedule cannot be completed because it is dark. A total of 54 golfers had to continue the game on Friday, October 3, 2025, morning WIB.

Meanwhile, the three host golfers, namely Jonathan Wijono, Kevin C. Akbar, and Alfred Sitohang scored the lowest score from 11 Indonesian golfers who participated in this event.

The three of them both recorded a score of 2-par below-par. Apart from Jonathan, who has finished the first round, Kevin and Alfred can even add to the bottom gain.

Kevin has one more hole left, while Alfred still has four more holes to finish.
