Marc Marquez Glad To Come To Indonesia As World Champion

Marc Marquez visited the State Palace before the 2025 Mandalika MotoGP race (doc. Special).

JAKARTA Marc Marquez could not hide the joy of coming to Indonesia after confirming himself as the 2025 MotoGP world champion last weekend in Japan.

The racer nicknamed The Baby Alien took the time to stop at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, and meet President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

After the meeting, Marquez also gave a brief press statement and expressed his joy at being in Indonesia for the 2025 Mandalika MotoGP race this weekend.

"Hello everyone. I am very happy to be back in Indonesia after becoming world champion three days ago. Yes, this will be the first GP (Grand Prix), the first circuit after winning," said Marquez.

Marquez arrived at the Merdeka Palace at around 16.30 WIB through the door of Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara. He appeared relaxed wearing a red polo shirt which is a Ducati official.

The Spaniard was accompanied by Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir and Indonesian racers, Mario Suryo Aji and Veda Ega Pratama.

"Earlier, Marc Marquez told the President (Prabowo Subianto) that it was an honor to meet the President," said Erick Thohir.

Marquez's arrival to Jakarta has been stealing attention since Monday, September 29, 2025, evening WIB. He landed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, and shared his moments of arrival via Instagram.

Marquez is now preparing to face the challenges in Mandalika on October 3-5, 2025. This is his first appearance after confirming the world title.

In addition, this is his fourth chance to pave the track. However, in the previous four races, he had never felt the podium in the main race.
