For The Indonesian National Team, The Super League Schedule Has Changed

JAKARTA - I-League as the operator of the Super League officially changed the schedule for the eighth week of the competition. This is done for the full support of the Indonesian national team which will appear in the Fourth Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the Asian Zone.

Initially, the eighth week of the 2025/2026 Super League was scheduled to take place on 2-5 October 2025. However, the schedule was postponed and will take place on 27-30 December 2025.

This step was taken so that the preparation of the Indonesian national team could be maximized. The Garuda squad will travel to Jeddah to undergo the Fourth Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification for the Asian Zone against Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

"This adjustment is a form of synergy between the Indonesian league and the Indonesian national team. Our clubs show a high commitment in supporting Garuda's struggle on the international stage," said President Director of I-League, Ferry Paulus, in an official statement quoted on Friday, September 19, 2025.

Ferry stated that changes to the 2025/2026 Super League schedule had been communicated and agreed together with all participating clubs, as well as considering technical aspects, logistics, and national interests.

Thus, the Indonesian national team players who competed in the Super League, including Thom Haye and Eliano Reijnders, could fly to Jeddah early.

In the Fourth Round of 2026 World Cup Qualification, the Indonesian national team is scheduled to face Saudi Arabia on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 00.15 WIB. Then in the next match, Patrick Kluivert's team will face Iraq on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 02.30 WIB.

To qualify for the 2026 World Cup, the Red-White Team needs to win the group. The opportunity to go to the 2026 World Cup stage can also be obtained if you finish as group runners-up and advance to the playoffs.
