JAKARTA Saul Canelo Alvarez failed to defend the WBC/IBF/WBO super middleweight belt after losing 12 rounds to Terence Crawford. The fight between the two boxers was held at the Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, USA, Saturday night (13/9/2025) or Sunday morning WIB.

The fight, which is touted as the latest this year, did not last as exciting as expected. Crawford (37 years), who had to advance two classes to challenge Alvarez (35 years), ran more avoiding than serving a close-range battle as the Mexican wanted.

Alvarez himself is trying hard to corner Crawford into the ring rope so that his attacks produce a lot of points. But the faster and more agile Crawford has always managed to escape.

Only in round 12 Crawford dared to serve a beating, even though it was only a few seconds. Furthermore, the boxer fromTEN, the US, is back to developing a long-range battle.

At the end of the fight the three judges gave the numbers 116-112, 115-113, 115-113, all for Crawford's lead. Crawford remains unbeaten with a record match of 42-0-0 (31 KO), while Alvarez with the defeat carved a record 63-3-2 (39 KO).
