PSS Sleman Must Compete Without Spectators In The First Two Home Matches

SLEMAN - PSS Sleman has had to play the first two home games without spectators in the 2025/2026 Championship competition. Sanctions were imposed during disciplinary violations when PSS faced Persija Jakarta in Liga 1 last season.

In the match at PSS's home at Maguwoharjo Stadium, May 17, 2025, supporters lit a dose that interfered with the eye. The referee stopped the match in the 69th minute. At that time, the score was still 1-1.

For this incident, the PSSI Disciplinary Committee imposed sanctions in the form of a ban on holding matches with spectators 2 (two) times. Sanctions apply when PSS hosts the 2025/2026 Championship season competition. In addition, PSS also received administrative fines.

With the imposition of the sanctions, PSS is certain to start the competition without spectators. In the inaugural match, PSS hosted Persiba Balikpapan in Maguwoharjo, Monday, September 15, 2025.

Furthermore, PSS again held a home match against Deltras FC, Monday, September 29, 2025. However, before meeting Deltras, they visited Persikau Kudus headquarters.

For sanctions from Komdis, PSS Sleman Executive Representative Vita Subiyakti appealed to supporters to comply with the decision. According to him, this is a form of shared responsibility.

"Although we cannot attend the stadium directly, we still hope to receive full support and enthusiasm from supporters in various positive ways," said Vita.

"We also invite all parties to work together to maintain the good name of PSS Sleman so that similar incidents do not happen again in the future. We ask for support so that the team continues to get positive energy in starting the struggle towards promotion to the Super League," he said again.

Despite holding a match without spectators, PSS was not affected and showed readiness for the inaugural match. PSS coach Ansyari Lubis said that the last week before the competition was an important moment to unite the vision of the players.

"Preparation to kick off competition has reached 100 percent because the team has carried out a lot of test matches. The team's development is also very good. I hope the team can be consistent until kick off the competition," said Ansyari.

In the match against Persiba, Ansyari stated that the intensity of the exercise remained with a shorter duration of time than during pre-season, especially in physical training.

"The emphasis on training is still the same. While physical training only takes care of the community. We focus on tactics and strengthening the psychological and mental aspects of the players," said the coach from Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.

In addition, the introduction of potential opponents in the inaugural match was part of the preparation of Laskar Sembada. This means that this is the parameters of the coaching team to ensure that the preparations for the players are running well.
