Indonesia U-23 In High Confidence Ahead Of The Match Against South Korea

Indonesia U-23 must win the match against South Korea U-23 in the last match of Group J of the 2026 U-23 Asian Cup Qualification (doc. Indonesian national team).

JAKARTA - The U-23 Indonesian national team will play the last match of Group J of the 2026 U-23 Asian Cup Qualification against South Korea U-23 at the Gelora Delta Stadium, Sidoarjo, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

The match is a life party for Garuda Muda. They must beat the Warriors if they want to get tickets to the 2026 U-23 Asian Cup finals.

If only a draw, the Indonesian U-23 chance to step up and play in the 2026 U-23 Asian Cup would be closed.

Fortunately, Indonesia U-23 was in high motivation and confidence ahead of a meeting with South Korea.

A landslide victory 5-0 over Macau U-23 on September 6, 2025, sparked Garuda Muda's ambition to beat South Korea.

"We managed to win the match against Macau. The result is very important as capital before facing South Korea which has strong quality," said Indonesia U-23 captain Arkhan Fikri.

He also emphasized that all players' motivation remained high for the last match and hoped to be able to achieve maximum results.

"I don't think we are satisfied because there is still a decisive match against South Korea. We will go all out to give the best for Indonesia," he said.

Indonesia U-23 is currently in second place in Group J with a collection of four points from two matches. Meanwhile, South Korea is at the top of the standings with six points.

Only group winners are entitled to advance to the 2026 U-23 Asian Cup finals. The other four tickets can actually be achieved through the best runners-up path.

However, Indonesia U-23 also has difficulty competing in the best runner-up group if the maximum draw against South Korea.
