Mario Aji Ready To Rise After Returning To Racing

JAKARTA The Indonesian racer who strengthened the Idemitsu Honda Team Asia in Moto2, Mario Suryo Aji, is preparing to rise after returning to race at the 2025 Catalunya Grand Prix last weekend.

The 21-year-old rider was absent for approximately three months after boarding the operating table at the end of May 2025. He had to undergo recovery so he could only appear in Catalunya.

Mario said that not racing for three months and having to come back with high intensity is not a young thing. So, it's natural that he still has difficulty following the rhythm of other riders in Catalunya.

"The positive point is that the potential is there, I just need to be patient," Mario said as quoted by the Idemitsu website.

This Madiun racer has had shoulder dislocation problems since the Spanish Grand Prix which took place at the end of April 2025. He later returned to Silverstone, England.

However, he suffered another shoulder dislocation and was forced to miss the race. The problem made Mario make a big decision to get on the operating table.

Mario Aji promised to try to give his best in the next race after in Catalunya failed to get points because he finished in 23rd position.

"My focus is to get back to my race speed, stay concentrated, and work with the team to catch up," he said.

Mario currently ranks 26th in the standings. He now collects eight points, much better than his teammates Yuki Kunii and Taiga Hada who have not collected points.

Mario said he was happy to continue to have the support of the team even though he failed to give the best results in a comeback at Barcelona.

"The result is not what we expected, but I am grateful to be back on track after a long break. I can't wait for the next race," he said.
