Tottenham Almost Get Xavi Simons, Ready To Disburse Almost IDR 1.3 Trillion

Tottenham Hotspur are at the forefront of getting Xavi Simons from Red Bull Leipzig. The midfielder was given permission to go to London to complete his next steps.

Chelsea initially led the 22-year-old's hunt. However, so far the Blues have not been willing to meet the demands of Leipzig of 70 million euros (around Rp1.3 trillion).

According to ESPN reports, Spurs have made an offer whose value is close to that figure and Simons has also gone to London to finalize the deal.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will act to rival Tottenham's offer. However, their efforts were hampered by the necessity to comply with UEFA's terms of punishment.

The penalty required Chelsea to record a positive transfer balance related to last season's UEFA Conference League squad to register new players for the Champions League campaign this season.

Meanwhile, Tottenham wants to add at least two new players before the transfer deadline on September 1, 2025.

Spurs focused on attack after failing to secure Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze. Gibbs-White signed a new contract to stay at Nottingham Forest, while Gibbs-White chose to join Arsenal.

However, recruiting Simons would be a significant achievement if they could finalize the deal considering he was previously expected to join Chelsea.

Simons' arrival in London is not an indication the deal has been fully approved with any club, but at least Spurs are the most serious so far.

If Chelsea chooses not to revive interest in Simons, the Dutchman has a big chance of getting closer to Spurs.
