Tibo Monabesa Ambitious To Break Nikhemtola's Record

JAKARTA Boxer from Indonesia, Tibo Monabesa, has ambitions to break Yelshat Nikhemttola's unbeaten record from Kazakhstan when they meet in the ring early next month.

The two names are scheduled to undergo a fight for the Bantam (53.5 kg) World Boxing Association (WBA) Asia title in Suzhou, China, on September 5, 2025.

Tibo, who is from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), said that this is his opportunity to be able to rise to a higher level. He also promised to try to maximize the opportunity.

"Please pray for support so that it can move up to higher achievements in this new class," said Tibo.

This is the second time Tibo has fought in a 53.5 kg bantam class. The 35-year-old boxer previously made his debut in that class against Ricardo Sueno in Timor Leste in November 2024.

In the clash over the WBC Asian Continental Bantam title, Tibo managed to stop his opponent from the Philippines in a duel that lasted for 10 rounds.

Tibo mengatakan bahwa dia sudah menjalani persiapan matang dalam dua bulan terakhir di Tanah Tinggi Tangerang, termasuk mencari referensi terkait lawan untuk menajamkan strategi.

Tibo is currently still honing its skills before leaving for China at the beginning of tomorrow with the coaching team and managers.

Tibo came to this match with a record 22 wins (8 KOs), two draws, and two defeats. On the other hand, his opponent has a record of 21 wins (8 KOs) and two draws.
