The Mixed Martial Arts Indonesia Association (PB Pertacami) sent a contingent containing seven young athletes to compete in the 1st AMMA Asian Youth Championships 2025.

The tournament is scheduled to take place on 29-30 August 2025 in Manama, Bahrain. The seven Indonesian athletes sent consisted of one daughter and six sons.

The General Chairperson of PB Pertambami, Tommy Paulus Hermawan, emphasized that this participation is proof of Indonesia's commitment to fostering young MMA talents so that they can compete at the international level.

"PB Pertambami is fully committed to fostering the younger generation so that they do not only become outstanding athletes, but also uphold the values of sportsmanship and nationality," he said.

The athletes sent were Lukas Oliver Lubis Sedlak, Fachriza Satria Sampora, Bumi Magani Abraar Himara, Rangga Dika Mahendra, Satria Eka Suryo Basroni, Gibran Alfarizi, and Manayra Maritza Hersianti Siagian.

They will compete in the Modern MMA 60 kg (U-16), Modern MMA 50 kg (U-18), Modern MMA 55 kg (U-18), Modern MMA 60 kg (U-18), Traditional MMA 60 kg (U-18), Traditional MMA 65 kg (U-18), and Modern MMA 45 kg (U-18).

Tommy said that MMA is a sport that is safe and has developed rapidly in popularity. This is evidenced by participation in the multi-branch sporting event in Asia.

"We see that participating in this event is not only a competition but also an effort towards a prestigious stage, including the 2025 Asian Youth Games and 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar," he said.

Apart from athletes, the Indonesian contingent is also filled with five officials. They consist of three coaches, one masseur, and one team manager.
