JAKARTA - Real Madrid is eyeing Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo. The La Liga club is monitoring Mainoo's situation, who has been left out of United's first two matches.

Mainoo, who was predicted to shine at United, has now dimmed. His hopes of a pay rise if his contract extension with United has not been fulfilled. This has led the 20-year-old midfielder to consider leaving United.

However, there has been no news of any club interested in signing Mainoo. Although several Premier League clubs have expressed interest in him, there has been no official offer to purchase the England international.

However, news has suddenly emerged from Spain that Madrid is interested in signing Mainoo. According to the Daily Mail, the La Liga giants are monitoring Mainoo's situation at United.

Interestingly, Madrid isn't the only one interested in the midfielder, who Manchester United legend Paul Scholes called "10 times better than him." This admission from the legend of few words and a favorite of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson shows that Mainoo does indeed possess the quality and potential to become a top midfielder in the future.

Besides Madrid, city rivals Atletico Madrid have also shown interest in Mainoo. This has heated up the competition for the player. However, the Madrid duo want to loan Mainoo first. If they are satisfied with his performance, they will offer him a permanent contract.

This clearly contrasts with Manchester United's desire to sell the player. Manchester United does not want to let Mainoo go on loan but prefers a sale.

Both Madrid and Atletico Madrid have confirmed their decision if Manchester United rejects the loan offer. However, the club will soon decide Mainoo's fate within the next 48 hours. Ten clubs are already lining up to buy this Manchester United product.

Mainoo himself has expressed his intention to leave Old Trafford after negotiations for a new contract stalled.

Mainoo, who currently earns £25,000 per week, hopes to receive a raise if his contract is extended. He is considered one of the club's lowest-paid players.

Mainoo wants his salary increased to £180,000, which would make him one of Manchester United's highest-paid players. However, Manchester United has not agreed to this request, resulting in negotiations stalling. Mainoo also intended to leave.

Mainoo himself was not played by Amorim in the first two Premier League matches against Arsenal and Fulham. Although he was on the bench, Mainoo was not used in the 1-0 loss to Arsenal and the 1-1 draw against Fulham.

According to Amorim, he had to compete with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes for a starting spot. "He has to compete with Bruno for that position," Amorim said.

Amorim opted to overhaul his playing system with the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. He had to make room for them alongside Mason Mount, which resulted in Mainoo's departure.

Mainoo, whose contract expires in 2027 with the option of an additional year, was eventually brought in to play in defensive midfield. However, Fernandes, who also plays further back, and Casemiro were already there.

However, Mainoo is likely to make his first appearance of the season when Manchester United face lower-division Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup.
