Even Though It's Still Without A Club, Thom Haye's Fitness Is Undeniable To Strengthen The Indonesian National Team

Thom Haye trains independently even without a club, remaining fit to defend the Indonesian national team (VOI/Karisa Aurelia Tukan).

JAKARTA - Thom Haye is on the list of 27 names called by Patrick Kluiver to the Indonesian National Team (Timnas). The summons relates to the agenda of the Indonesian national team at the FIFA Matchday in September 2025.

Thom Haye is currently a player without a club. Even so, the federation is not worried about his fitness. This is as stated by the Indonesian national team manager, Sumardji.

"I think when it comes to player performance, they actively train independently. I don't think there is a problem," Sumardji said in a statement in Jakarta quoted on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Haye has been without a club since July 2025 after defending Dutch club Almere City last season with 30 appearances and two assists.

Apart from the player's status, the Indonesian national team was originally scheduled to play FIFA Matchday against two teams at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.

The two teams planned are Kuwait and Lebanon. However, in the latest news, it is known that the match against Kuwait was canceled.

Meanwhile, to welcome FIFA Matchday, all Indonesian national team players are scheduled to start gathering in Surabaya on September 1, 2025 to undergo a brief training camp.

Sumardji said, the election at that time was taken to check the current physical condition of the Garuda Team players, including Haye, who has not yet found a new club.

"Yes, we will call the destination on September 1, 2025 so that the players can immediately improve their performance. Incidentally, September 1, 2025, we will gather. After that, practice together. That is the moment we will use," said Sumardji.
