Darwin N Wayez Officially Leaves Liverpool, Joins Al-Hilal With A Transfer Of IDR 1 Trillion

JAKARTA - Striker from Uruguay, Darwin Nunez officially completed his move from Liverpool to the Saudi Pro League club, Al-Hilal in the 2025 summer transfer market.

This transfer ended Nunez's three-year tenure at Anfield, where she scored 40 goals in 143 appearances.

The move was confirmed by Liverpool via their official website on Sunday, provided that the transfer is still awaiting international clearance.

According to a report from ESPN, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, August 10, Al-Hilal paid a transfer fee of 53 million Euros (around Rp1 trillion) to secure the services of the 26-year-old player.

Nunez, who had been targeted by other clubs such as Napoli and AC Milan, chose Al-Hilal after being interested in the club's ambitious project under coach Simone Inzaghi.

According to European transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Nunez has approved a three-year contract with a salary of 21.5 million Euros (Rp407 billion) per season, making him one of the highest-paid players in football.

This move opened up space for Liverpool to find a replacement up front, with a name like Alexander Isak from Newcastle United being touted as a potential target.

Al-Hilal himself hopes that Nunez's presence will strengthen their squad to compete in the Saudi Pro League and the AFC Champions League.
