Chelsea Win 2-0 Against Bayer Leverkusen

JAKARTA - English League club Chelsea secured victory with a score of 2-0 against German League club Bayer Leverkusen in a friendly at Stamford Bridge Stadium, London, Saturday morning WIB.

Quoting Antara, in this match Chelsea won over Bayer Leverkusen thanks to goals from Esteveao and Joao Pedro.

Statistically Chelsea are superior to Bayer Leverkusen by controlling 70 percent of possession and releasing a total of 24 kicks, nine of which are on target.

Chelsea took the initiative to attack first in the match and had threatened through Marc Cucurella who could still be blocked by Leverkusen's defense.

Furthermore, Chelsea continued to attack the Leverkusen defense through efforts made by Malo Gusto, Moises Caicedo to Liam Delap, but nothing has paid off.

Enzo Maresca's squad could only break the deadlock in the 17th minute through a goal scored by Estevoo after snatching the rebound ball from Cole Palmer's shot so the score changed to 1-0.

Not long after, Chelsea had a chance to double their lead after Tyrique George's pass was accepted by Delap, but his shot was blocked by Leverkusen goalkeeper Mark Flekken.

Entering the second half, Chelsea fielded several players, including new signing Jorrel Hato who had just been brought in from Ajax to replace Marc Cucurella.

After the break, Leverkusen had the opportunity to equalize through efforts made by Patrik Schick, but could be dammed by Chelsea's defensive line.

Estevoo had a chance to score his second goal in this match, as well as bring Chelsea to double the lead, but this time his shot was wide of Leverkusen's goal.

After often putting a danger to Leverkusen's defense, Chelsea were only able to double their lead when the game entered the last minute through Joao Pedro's goal and made the score 2-0 last until the game was over.

Furthermore, Chelsea will still have a friendly match against AC Milan, Sunday (10/8), while Bayer Leverkusen will play the German Cup match against SG, Friday (15/8).
