Liverpool Competitors Aggressively Hunt Players, Slot Fast With Squad

JAKARTA - Liverpool's competitors include being aggressive in chasing players. Liverpool are very active in bringing in players. Arne Slot's manager also said he was satisfied with the Reds squad after signing Florian Wirtz et al.

Liverpool did not make any players purchases when Slot came to Anfield at the start of last season. Replacing Juergen Klopp who was successful at Liverpool, Slot clearly bears a heavy burden. Moreover, the Reds squad hasn't changed much.

However, the former Feyenoord coach actually achieved success in his Premier League England debut. Slot led Liverpool to win the Premier League for the 20th and at the same time equal to Manchester United's record.

But Slot thinks competition this season will be tougher. The reason is, competing clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City also add players.

Even Arsenal and Chelsea showed aggressiveness in the hunt for players. Including MU who tried to get up by bringing in some important players.

Liverpool themselves have actually completed the squad. However, Liverpool still hopes to bring in one player who will be the team's mainstay, namely Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak. But Newcastle is not ready to release Isak whose contract is still three years away.

Slot himself refused to discuss Isak, who was not sure about moving to Anfield. He also admitted that he was satisfied with his squad.

"You can't talk about players who don't belong to you. So I'd better talk about Hugo just being recruited some time ago. He showed a good performance," said Slot.

"What is clear is that I am happy with the squad we have. There are always reasons that make us happy because we managed to win the League," he said.
