Alwi Farhan's Reaction Debuts At The 2025 World Championship

Alwi Farhan immediately underwent preparations to appear in the BWF World Championships 2025 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA The men's singles badminton player, Alwi Farhan, will try to maximize the opportunity he can make his debut at the 2025 Badminton World Championships (BWF World Championships) this month.

Alwi was confirmed to participate in the prestigious event after the Danish men's singles badminton player, Viktor Axelsen, announced his resignation on Thursday, August 7, 2025, WIB night.

Through his social media, Viktor, who is the former world number one, said he still needed time to recover after his back surgery in April 2025.

Viktor's decision to resign automatically, Alwi Farhan, who occupies the first waiting list, has the right to replace his position. Alwi then received an invitation on Friday, August 8, 2025.

"It's encouraging because for the first time, but still all feelings must be controlled. I will maximize this opportunity and try to take as much experience as possible," said Alwi.

The entry of Alwi made Indonesia strengthened by three men's singles. The 20-year-old badminton player will accompany Jonatan Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.

Indonesia will have two representatives who debuted at the 2025 World Championships. Alwi will make his debut in the tournament with mixed doubles pair Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu.

"I will give my best and prepare myself well too. One and a half weeks of sufficient time to prepare."

"Now his mind is clearer, yesterday he was still floating, playing or not, now it has been decided so from his focus it must be improved," said Alwi.

Indonesia has a total of 12 representatives who will play in the 2025 BWF World Championships which will take place at the Adidas Arena, Paris, France, on August 25-32, 2025.

Other names participating were Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Putri Kusuma Wardani (women's singles) as well as men's doubles Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, and Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana (men's doubles).

Then there are Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi and Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti (women's doubles) as well as one mixed doubles Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.

In the last edition of the 2023 World Championships, the Red-White managed to win a silver medal through the pair Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.
