Manchester City And Ruben Dias Achieve New Contract Agreement

Ruben Dias has agreed with Manchester City regarding the extension of the contract (Instagram/@rubendias).

JAKARTA - Manchester City has approved a new contract with centre-back Ruben Dias.

Dias is under contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2027. The club has moved quickly to tie the Portuguese defender with a new long-term contract.

Representatives of The Citizens and Dias are finalizing their terms, but according to ESPN, an agreement has been reached in principle.

Dias has been an important part of Pep Guardiola's team since arriving from Benfica in 2020.

He has made more than 200 appearances for Manchester City and has been named the best player in the Premier League in 2021.

Dias has joined Erling Haaland in his future commitments at the club. In January 2025, the Norwegian striker signed a contract that would keep him at the Etihad until 2034.

After securing Dias' future, club officials will step up efforts to agree on a new long-term contract with Rodri and Phil Foden.

Manchester City has a number of other players with contracts that will expire in the next two years.

Rodri, Phil Foden, Mateo Kovacic, Nathan Ake, Jack Grealish, and Manuel Akanji have entered their last two years of contract.

Meanwhile, Ilkay Gundogan, John Stones, Ederson, and Bernardo Silva all still have the remaining one-year contract.
