PSS Sleman Takes Important Lessons Against Persebaya

JAKARTA - PSS Sleman assistant coach Ansari Lubis assessed that his team learned many important lessons from the test match which ended in a 0-1 defeat against Persebaya in the Team Launching Game at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT) Surabaya, Saturday, July 19 last night.

Even though the results were lost, the players had shown very good performance. Chemistry is also starting to form. This is a good momentum for all players and coaching staff," said Ansari as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, July 20.

In addition, he said, the overall coaching team will conduct a thorough evaluation of the children's play in the match.

Several things are noted, he continued, include difficulties in dealing with the opponent's counter-attack and the lack of maximum tactical violation tactics in midfield.

Not only that, Ansari also hopes that the myth that is often heard, that the League 2 team that faces Persebaya in the trial match will be promoted to League 1, can become a reality for PSS this season.

Meanwhile, PSS Sleman player Jajang Mulyana said the match against League 1 team such as Persebaya was the right test for his team ahead of the League 2 competition.

In fact, he is optimistic, the results of the match and the evaluation of the team after the trial match will help PSS Sleman be better prepared and competitive.

"This is a very good trial. Hopefully in the future we can improve ourselves and return to qualify for League 1," he said.
