Menpora Godok Opportunities For Indonesia To Host Youth Olympic Games 2030

Menpora Dito Ariotedjo will face the opportunity for Indonesia to host the 2030 Youth Olympic Games (doc. Kemenpora).

JAKARTA - The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo, will discuss Indonesia's opportunity to host the 2030 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), one of which is related to the budget.

Funding support from the Government is the most crucial thing in maintaining Indonesia's opportunity to host a multi-branch for the 15-18-year-old youth group.

"We will first explore the possibility of what the condition is and what is needed as the host," said Dito in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

The opportunity that Indonesia has to hold the Youth Olympic Games 2030 is wide open. Currently, NOC Indonesia continues to communicate continuously with the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Indonesia already has existing facilities, infrastructure, and infrastructure in DKI Jakarta, which was previously used for the 2018 Asian Games and Asian Para Games.

Chairman of NOC Indonesia, Raja Sapta Oktohari, said that Indonesia had fully understood the process of getting a share to become the host, just waiting for support.

"If we have received the budget support that we are compiling together, we will continue to communicate. If there is an agreement, God willing, we will be ready," said Okto.

Indonesia will compete with several countries to host the 2030 Youth Olympic Games. They are Qatar, India, Paraguay, Mexico, Peru, Mongolia, Denmark, Colombia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Okto emphasized that this nomination is not only a unilateral decision from NOC Indonesia, but must involve the Central and Regional Governments for an official commitment letter that shows the readiness of the state to host it.

"For me, seeing all the facilities, all infrastructure, infrastructure, and experience, I am very optimistic that Indonesia can definitely be trusted to host the 2030 Youth Olympic Games," he said.

All administrative processes related to the nomination are targeted for completion in August 2025. This certainty is important so that Indonesia remains on the path of positive dialogue with the IOC.
