JAKARTA - After actively shopping on the summer market, Manchester United insists it will maintain its target of lifting the Premier League and Super League (WSL) trophy in 2028 to mark the club's 150th birthday.
The confirmation about the target was expressed directly by the CEO of Manchester United, Omar Berrada, some time ago.
In the 2024/2025 season, the men's team experienced the worst league season since 1973/1974. The Red Devils finished in 15th place in the Premier League and failed to qualify for the European tournament next season.
Meanwhile, Manchester United's women's team finished third at WSL 2024/2025 and reached the FA Cup final, losing to Chelsea who won three times.

Berrada reiterated the target of lifting both titles within three years when interviewed by club fanzine United We Stand.
"This is the determination of a series of targets within a certain period of time so that we can focus our efforts and energy on that goal."
"Can the team win the Premier League title in 2028? Of course. We just finished in 15th position and that seems an impossible task."
"However, why not target it? Why not do all our power?" said Berrada.
Berrada, who joined Manchester United from city rivals Manchester City in January 2024, believes the men's team can turn things around relatively quickly.
"I'm very confident we can do it. We have two or three summer windows to build a team to start competing to win the Premier League."
"No one said we didn't want to win it until then. We set a target with a certain period of time to live and aim," Berrada said again.
Manchester United have started improving the squad this summer in order to achieve that target.
The Red Devils' spending on the transfer window was so active. They just recruited Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Then, they targeted Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford to strengthen the attack line. Negotiations are still tough until now.
