Ahead Of The Spanish MotoGP, Marc Marquez Becomes Bagnaia's Real Threat

JAKARTA - Ahead of the 2025 Spanish MotoGP, Francesco Bagnaia was asked to be aware of the dangers made by Marc Marquez. This warning was expressed by former MotoGP rider Neil Hudgson.

Hudgson reminded Bagnaia not to relax ahead of the race at the Jerez Circuit. Currently Bagnaia is in third place in the 2025 MotoGP standings.

The Ducati Lenovo racer is 26 points from his teammate, Marquez, who topped the standings with 123 points.

Marquez got the score after winning three main races. Meanwhile, Bagnaia has only won one race series this season. That was because Marquez had an incident.

Bagnaia's situation made Hodgson feel sad. The analyst at TNT Sports asked Bagnaia to rise and not focus on points from the sprint race only.

I am a big fan of Pecco (Bagnaia), he won MotoGP twice, he is extraordinary. But he was fascinated by Marc. This is Pecco's team, Pecco's garage. I also feel what Pecco is experiencing, it's difficult," Hodgson said as quoted by Crash on Sunday, April 20.

"Don't focus on Saturday, focus on everything, because (Marc) has taken care of it," he continued.

Looking at the next series of races, Hodgson assessed that Bagnaia must show significant changes if it still wants to compete. The next series of races will take place at the Jerez Circuit, Spain on April 25, 2025.

We are already at the point where you have to change something. He (Bagnaia) performed well at Jerez, as well as Marc," said Hodgson.

Last season, Bagnaia won the race at the Jerez Circuit. He managed to absorb Marquez who got the second podium.

However, Hodgson thinks the current situation is different. Marquez will be a real threat to Bagnaia.

Marc almost beat him last year in Ducati '23 which we now know is three or four tenths slower per round. Marc entered Jerez as his favorite," he said.
